I am a relative newbie when it comes to Adult RA, I have been doing Children's RA for several years, so I was excited to see on Novelist that they have RA training in each of the genres. I have to admit that I prefer the Romance genre (I am a hopeless romantic), however, I know I need to expand my horizons into the other genres if I am going to do my job well.
Currently, I am listening to Michael Ondaatje's Divisadero and although it has great literary merit, I just can't seem to get into the story. Perhaps it is due to the fact I am listening to this particular author's book on CD or, perhaps like the RA rule goes; it just isn't the right book at the right time. I suppose I will learn alot more lessons along this journey, for those that have experience in this area I am curious, what are the lessons you have learned along the way?
