Promote life-long learning

This theme is about supporting life-long learning at every stage and respectful of Ontario's diverse cultures and communities through creation and distribution of digital tools and on line learning resources.

Linking Opportunity?

I wonder with the Rural Connections program if there is away to have KO and the public library highlighted on the welcome homepage? When people first login? I know that eventually people will be able to change their home page, but an initial welcome and "did you know" may direct some people to the new RO, AO and Our Ontario resources.

Supporting Life-long learning

In rural Middlesex, broadband is coming--thanks to WiMax technology and the Rural Connections program. This gives our residents and our libraries (through the public internet computers, hotspots for laptop users)a better opportunity to participate in on-line courses. The need to be on-campus, while beneficial for learning in many ways is no longer a requirement for those seeking further education. This is an emerging opportunity, expecially now that online content such as the KO licensed databases provide virtual library resources in addition to the local library resources.
