Underemployed: Networking and unexpected problems

Well, networking doesn't look any more fun, but it does look more possible at this point. Making it easier:
• Repeating: looking for information, not for a job – like doing a research project. Takes the pressure off.
• Marketing Plan: who I am, what I can do, what I’m looking for, where I’m looking. Gives person you’re networking with a better idea of what you’re looking for, and gives you a place to start talking
• Option of doing some electronically: introductory emails, and LinkedIn. Can’t do it all this way, but at least it’s not hours of introducing myself on the phone.

Being underemployed is causing problems I wasn’t really expecting. First, I thought I was fully in acceptance mode, but I’m still jumping around a bit this week. I really miss my old job. Second, my schedule with the job that I still have is erratic enough that I’m seriously losing track of the days of the week.

I’m going to try to institute for myself an actual schedule, including several categories of activities (work, job-finding, chores, hobbies, relaxing, etc.). It still won’t be able to be perfectly regular, varying shifts at work will move everything else around with them, but hopefully it will help with the aimlessness and “wait, it’s what day today?”
