So the doctor called me today to arrange for another X-ray. He said that the first X-ray shows that there may be a fracture, and that they need another look with the swelling down to be sure. Thankfully, the swelling is down and I will go in tomorrow to the hospital for another "picture" session.  I am hoping that I will not need a cast, I have been getting around easier in the last day or two, and thought I was on the mend. Keep your fingers crossed.

I have been spending some time on the website for the social media course that I will be taking in a few short days. It looks very exciting and interesting and I am really looking forward to it. This will be my stretch course this semester, as I absolutely see the need of libraries (and schools and industry) embracing social media. I even see the applications and creative opportunities that social media presents. The reality, for me, though, is that I am not particularly fond of using social media myself. Yes, I do use email for contacting people (and admitting that already makes me a dinosaur, as I do not use any instant messaging service), I have a page on Facebook and I do have this blog, but I am behind the times on what is available and how to use it all effectively.

I am hoping that this course will be the eye-opener that I need and also the demystifyer for me of how to go about being effective in my time management of these opportunities. I want to see the potential and harness the power without being lost in the maze of what is available.

Wish me luck,
Peggy
