In 1987, the World Bank, with funding from the Government of Japan, established the World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (WBGSP) for graduate studies in subjects related to economic development. Each year, the Program awards scholarships to individuals from World Bank member countries to undertake graduate studies at renowned universities throughout member countries of the Bank.
Now in its 23d year, the Regular Program has awarded 3,153 scholarships, selected from 58,944 applicants. In addition, 1,226 scholarships have been awarded in the various JJ/WBGSP Partnership Programs for a total of 4,379 awards.

GUIDE ON APPLY FOR Post Graduate SCHOLARSHIPS.

In today’s world employers receive about 200-500 applications for each scholarship opening. They just received a bunch of dates and numbers and little personal information of candidates. Therefore is it very difficult to judge a potential candidate without having interview and personal discussion. But calling for interview is expansive and it’s not possible to call every candidate for the Interview. Therefore it is very important that your scholarship application should stand out exceptionally in the crowd and get selected for the next stage. Scholarship-Positions.com is trying to provide helpful tips about how to apply for scholarships.

Reading on the weekend

What a wonderful thing to be a part of. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of the selection committee for 2011 Red Maple books. I am enjoying reading them all. It took me a while to dive into them because I was reading the 2010 books before my students got a hold of them. I wanted to finish reading them so I would be able to conduct literature circles with them.

A victory for the environment at U Ottawa

While a number of readers disagreed with my total opposition to plastic bags on campus and specifically to having them available in the library, the University of Ottawa is finally officially phasing out plastic bags. It's only a matter of time before your library will have to do the same!

  • I'm Cheating on the Library

Now I hate to admit this because for the past couple years I've publicly bashed this company and even had a teleconference argument with its founder, yet now I find myself using it more and more...Google Books. I always felt Google Books was 'stepping on our toes' as a librarian and I knew that in the short term they wouldn't be able to digitize or make public complete copies of many books, either due to remaning copyrights or simply time.

    ICA-AtoM users? Arts organization archivists?

I've recently begun the process of archiving our organization's 40 years of performance data into searchable digital and physical archives. (The 'data' I'm talking about here is ephemera like playbills, posters, scripts, reviews, props, promo material and other theatre-related items, for the most part)

We're planning on using ICA-AtoM as the digital archiving tool - I'm looking for others who've used ICA-AtoM.

The Perfect Sample Essay Can Always be Found in the Library (Fact)

College students would ponder many times how to write a good essay. Is it the writing style? The title? The way facts and arguments are presented? It's all of that. There's much more to it as well.

Finding a perfect sample essay isn't like searching for the Lost City of Gold. Most of us try too hard in searching for something that is already in front of us. It's the same with writing. Why exert effort when a great written piece can be a product of little things? Library is a great source for example of essays or anything that you want to know.
